Art In Public Places
The Art In Public Places Program supports LAA member artists who choose to show and sell their work in the following venues. Members may sign up in the Fall for the following calendar year. Please contact Marilyn Hunt for information on current openings or if you have questions. 720-289-0146.
Description of Venues
- Artful Cup Coffee House, 950 West Cherry, Louisville. (303-604-9395)Art hangs on the wall in the back of this sunny coffee house. 6-10 small and medium pieces 20% commission taken. One-month rotation.
- Bear Creek Dental, 3400 Table Mesa Dr # 102, Boulder. (303-494-1052) Art hangs in this busy waiting area, hall and offices. 8 medium, 2 small pieces. They are open Mon-Fri, closed 12-1pm. Ask about the hooks designated for LAA. Two-month rotation.
- Blue Parrot, 640 Main Street, Louisville (303-666-0677)Art hangs in two different eating areas and in the hallway entering one of them. 6 pieces. Hang after 3:00 pm. Ask about the hooks designated for LAA. Two-month rotation.
- Chamber of Commerce, 901 Main Street, Louisville (303-666-5747)Art hangs in several rooms and at the reception desk area. 12 pieces, mostly medium sized, some can be small. Two-month rotation.
- City Hall, 749 Main Street, Louisville. (303-335-4533) Deborah Borelli, assistant to the City Manager)Art hangs on one wall on the second floor. 10 pieces depending on size. One-month rotation.
- Crazy Horse Salon, 734 Front Street, Louisville. (303-666-5802)Art hangs on a burgundy wall by the reception desk at the front. 1-2 pieces depending on size (l large or 2 medium). Two-month rotation.
- 1st Community Bank, 1020 Century Boulevard, Louisville. (303-666-0666)Art hangs in the entry, lobby area, and hallway in this really nice venue. It has very good lighting. It takes medium to large pieces mostly and has 29 hooks available. Usually 3-4 artists can hang there at one time. Two-month rotation.
- LaMar’s Donuts & Coffee, 133 Mccaslin Blvd # E, Louisville. (720-890-3875 ).Art hangs on four walls in this light and spacious eatery. 8 pieces. One-month rotation.
- Louisville Municipal Courthouse, 922 Via Appia, Louisville. (303-335-4653) Linda LeBeck, court clerk)Art hangs on two opposite walls in this elegant space with very good lighting. Call to arrange a time for hanging when the court is not in session. 6 medium to large pieces. Two-month rotation.
- Louisville Recreation Center, 800 West Via Appia, Louisville. (303-666-7400)Art hangs on the large main wall on the left side as you enter the building. Three artists show at a time. Each artist may use 5 wires (more than one pieces can hang on a wire). Usually a one-month rotation. Please note that this schedule is varied because of other prescheduled events at the Rec Center.
- Mojos, 211 North Public Road, Lafayette. (303-665-9026)Art is hung on the walls around the inside of the cafe and its conference room. 8-10 medium to large pieces. One-month rotation.
- Spicy Pickle, 321 McCaslin, Louisville. (720-890-6162) Art is hung on a wall in the back of this sandwich shop. 4 medium pieces. Two-month rotation.
- Staufer Team Real Estate, 950 Spruce St., Suite 1B, Louisville, (303-664-0000)Art hangs in the entry area, hallways, and office areas including the conference room in this really nice venue. It has very good lighting. It takes small, medium, and large pieces and has approximately 45 hooks. Usually 4 artists can hang there at one time. Two-month rotation.
