Italian Photojournalist Presents Workshop in Boulder

    By sparker | June 29, 2009

[Ed. Note] Steve Parker is posting this for Barbara Hardesty

Massimo Bassano returns to Boulder this summer! Massimo is one of Italy’s top photojournalists – he was just awarded first and second place for “Best Travel Cover,” by the Italian Conference of Editors & Journalists! Massimo shares with us how photographers can capture that exceptional photo when they become part of the scene they are photographing rather than just watching them through a lens.

The first two days are for those who want more technical knowledge about their camera, software/computer and latest equipment. The following five-day workshop is “shooting on-site” in and around Boulder. Each day becomes a photographic adventure. Capturing the morning light and coolness of the day, we shoot together and independently. In the afternoons we gather for discussions, return to do more shooting and download or develop film overnight. Everyone will be able to sign up for a one-on-one session with Massimo.

    Technical Intensive – July 20 – 21, 2009 $395 Shoot and Critique – July 22 – July 26, 2009 $995 Full Week workshop – $1,295

For additional details, refer to http://www.davincicapers.com/events/index.html

Special Discount: A special 5% discount if you are a member of the Louisville Art Association.

To register, contact Barbara Hardesty, Da Vinci Capers – e-mail:

His artwork has appeared in a number of books and magazines, including Time, GEO, PM Magazine, Earth, and Le Figuro, and has been featured in a variety of gallery exhibitions. He has also taught classes in drawing, painting, portraiture, still life and plein air through Life Long Learning and the Colorado Academy of Art, as well as privately.

A fixture in the Colorado art scene since 1923, the Boulder Art Association is dedicated to helping beginning, emerging and professional artists in the creation of fine art, as well as in developing appreciation for the fine arts. Founded in 1923 by Jean Sherwood, an art teacher at Chautauqua, the Boulder Art Association offers demonstrations at their monthly meetings, and many opportunities for artists to gain visibility for their work throughout the county.
